Yesterday SoundTrackFest had the chance to attend the rehearsals of the live-to-picture concert ‘Singin’ in the Rain’, performed by the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa – BOS conducted by Anthony Gabriele, where we also had some time to interview maestro Gabriele.
The rehearsal hall of the BOS, on the 5th floor of the Euskalduna Palace, was the place where the orchestra, under the precise baton of Anthony Gabriele, polished the pieces that we can enjoy in the concerts that will be celebrated today, Thursday 10th and tomorrow, Friday 11th of October.
In a relaxed atmosphere, and we could almost say that it was a funny atmosphere (like the music that is part of the movie), we could see come to life well-known pieces such as ‘Make’ Em Laugh’, ‘All I do is dream of you’, ‘Good Morning’ or ‘Singin’ in the Rain’, where the precise synchronization of the original songs, the dialogues and the dance sequences, with the live music that comes from the orchestra, is fundamental. As Anthony Gabriele told us, “It is a complex task, which requires a lot of precision… but that is my job, making the difficult seem easy!”
Here you have some photos of the rehearsals and the interview.
SoundTrackFest will attend the concert tomorrow, Friday 11, to later publish a summary article along with the interview with Anthony Gabriele, and we would like to encourage you not to miss this opportunity to enjoy this delicious musical movie in concert.
According to the weather forecasts, today and tomorrow the sun will shine in Bilbao… except in the Euskalduna Palace, where we will be… ‘Singin’ In the Rain’.
