On August 7th at 22:15h, the Royal Albert Hall in London (UK) held a special concert entitled ‘Prom 27: The Sound Of Space: Sci-Fi Film Music’ within the BBC PROMS, dedicated to bring together some of the best sci-fi film music, with excerpts from cult soundtracks together with recent works by Hans Zimmer, Mica Levi, John Murphy or Carly Paradise among others.

 

The concert, performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra and conducted by Robert Ames, had the participation of Jed Kurzel (live electronics), Carly Paradis (piano), Lisa Hannigan (vocalist), EERA (vocalist), and the presence of John Murphy and Steven Price, with the following program (no interval):

  • Steven Price – Gravity
  • Mica Levi – Under the Skin
  • John Murphy – Sunshine
  • Wendy Carlos – Tron (Scherzo)
  • Carly Paradis – The Innocents
  • Clint Mansell – Moon
  • Louis and Bebe Barron – Forbidden Planet (Main Titles – Overture)
  • Jed Kurzel – Alien: Covenant
  • Jòhann Jòhannsson arr. Anthony Weeden – Arrival (Suite No 1)
  • Hans Zimmer – Interstellar
