This Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of December, two special concerts were held at the L’Auditori in Barcelona entitled ‘100 Years of Bernstein and the American Musical’ performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona y Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) under the baton of Alfonso Casado (read news).

 

Jaume Piquet attended the concert on Saturday 22nd, and he leaves us some photos of the concert with a brief commentary for SoundTrackFest:

“Last night at the L’Auditori in Barcelona, which was completely full for a Christmas musical show, we were able to enjoy a great concert by the OBC accompanied by some fabulous voices, offering us various musical pieces, with special emphasis on the work of Leonard Bernstein. To the surprise of the audience, the singer Nina appeared on stage replacing Rebecca Trehearn, who could not be part of the concert due to illness, and was the leading voice in the song ‘Send in the Clowns’. A quality and very enjoyable concert that was worth the ticket, even if you were not a special fan of musicals, nor knew in detail all the pieces of the night”.
