Based on the 1971 Broadway musical, the TV special written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice called ‘Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert’ will be aired this Easter Sunday, April 1st on NBC Television, narrating the last week of Jesus Christ’s life, told from the perspective of infamous betrayer Judas Iscariot.
The cast will include John Legend as Jesus Christ, Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, Alice Cooper as King Herod and Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas Iscariot.
Shortly after the world premiere of this concert, on April 6th, a soundtrack album will be released.
