The Young Orchestra of Andalusia conducted by John Axelrod, will offer two tribute concerts on the occasion of Leonard Bernstein’s centenary; the first one tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10th, at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada (Spain) and the second one on Thursday, January 11th, at the Villamarta Theater in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain).

The performances will have the participation of the Young Chorus of Andalusia (directed by Iñigo Sampil), the Young Choir of the City of Granada Orchestra (directed by Héctor E. Márquez), and the soloists Josep Ramon Olivé (baritone) and Lucía Martín (soprano).

 

The planned program will be the following:

FIRST HALF

Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990)

* Candide (Overture)

* On the Waterfront: Suite

 

SECOND HALF

Samuel Barber (1910-1981)

*Agnus Dei  (Adagio for Strings Op. 11).

 

Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924)

*Requiem, Op. 48.  (6 movement)
