4th edition of SEMUA festival in Galicia (Spain)

The SEMUA – Semana de las Músicas del Audiovisual (Week of Music for Audiovisuals) festival will celebrate its 4th edition from today, Sunday 27th of October to Friday, 1st of November 2019 in La Coruña (Galicia, Spain), after having carried out three successful previous editions: first one in 2016 (read news), second one in 2017 (read news), and the last one in 2018 (read news).

 

SEMUA is a unique festival, which under the artistic direction of the composer Nani García, gives prominence to music for film, television and other audiovisual media, spreading word about the best compositions in each genre. The program of this fourth edition will feature a masterclass for professionals in the sector, as well as concerts, including two didactic concerts for the schoolchildren by the Municipal Music Band of A Coruña.

The festival will pay special attention to the figure of Argentinian pianist and composer Federico Jusid, who will conduct a concert that will contain his music, also having the Spanish-Argentinian music composer and producer Lucio Godoy, who will give a workshop.

 

The detailed program is as follows:

  • Sunday 27th of October – 12:30-13:30h – Family concert, performed by the Municipal Music Band of A Coruña conducted by David Fiuza – Teatro Colón (La Coruña). Free admission until full capacity is reached.

  • Bienvenido Mr. Marshall (Jesús García Leoz, Dir. Luis García Berlanga, 1953) (4’)
  • Captain Thunder (Luis Ivars, Dir. Antonio Hernández, 2011) (10’)
  • Short Stories (Ramón García i Soler, Dir. Hugo de la Riva, 2012) (18’)
  • Pasodoble (Carmelo Bernaola, José Luis García Sánchez, 1988) (4’15”)

 

  • Monday 28th of October – 10:00-11:00h – Didactic Concert, for students from different educational centers in La Coruña and performed by the Municipal Music Band of A Coruña conducted by David Fiuza – Teatro Colón (La Coruña).
