Fernando Velazquez & Arturo Diez Boscovich – Conferences in Aviles (Spain)

Julian Orbon Conservatory of Aviles (Asturias – Spain), celebrates its first cultural week that runs from this Friday, March 24th to Sunday, April 2nd, and will have a variety of daily activities, including various concerts and conferences.

The purpose of this week is to open the doors of the conservatory to both the educational community and to the city of Avilés, to publicize the studies that are taught in the center and their different professional careers.

Two events to highlight:

On Wednesday, March 29th at 7:00 p.m., composer Fernando Velazquez, winner of this year’s Goya Award for his soundtrack for A Monster Calls (2016), will offer a conference about his career at the Municipal House of Culture of Aviles (free admission).

Once the conference is over, the Band of the Conservatory under the direction of Ivan Cuervo, will offer a closing concert where known soundtracks will be played (program to be determined).

On Thursday, March 30th at 6:00 p.m., composer and conductor Arturo Diéz Boscovich, will offer the conference “Sing, dance, play and act. The Musical Theater“, which will deal with his experiences in the musical theater.
