Film music concerts with Classical Orchestra of Vigo

The Classical Orchestra of Vigo (OCV) has presented this week its program for the rest of the year, which includes two concerts related to film music.

The first of these concerts will be held on Friday, November 17th – 8:00 pm at the Salesianos Movie Theater in Vigo, and under the name “BSO: Vertigo“, a mix of classical music and soundtracks will be played, focused mainly on Bernard Herrmann’s music for Alfred Hitchcock‘s films: Vertigo (1958) and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956).

The program planned for this concert is:

  • El anillo de hierro
  • Funeral March of a Marionette – Charles Gounod
  • The Man Who Knew Too Much – Bernard Herrmann
  • Tristan and Isolde – Prelude – Richard Wagner
  • Conversation – Theme
  • Vertigo – Suite – Bernard Herrmann

The second concert will be held on Friday, December 29th – 8:30 pm at the Afundación Theater in Vigo, where the Classical Orchestra of Vigo (OCV), together with the OCV Choir and under the name “Concerto Extraordinario de Nadal – The Lord of the Rings”, will perform classical works by Mendelssohn or Conrado del Campo, along with pieces from the extensive and fabulous Howard Shore’s soundtrack for The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003).
