The 13th edition of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ), which will be held from September 20 to 29, 2019, and which will include Harry Manfredini, Christopher Young, Vince DiCola, Randy Edelman and Antón García Abril among their guest composers, has just announced two new concerts.
On Saturday, September 21st, the Guimerá Theater in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and in a double session at 19h and 22h, will hold the premiere the show ‘Let’s dance’ by the Pop Culture Band, with a repertoire that will cover iconic themes such as “The time of my life” (Dirty Dancing), “Footloose ”,“ Great balls of fire ”,“ Walking on sunshine” (‘High Fidelity’) or “My Sharona” (‘Reality Bites’), among others.
Note that the guest composer Vince DiCola will participate in the concert, who is the author of the electrifying theme “Far from over” from the movie starring John Travolta ‘Staying alive’, with which he won a Golden Globe nomination for the best original song in the year 1984.
On Thursday, September 26th, the Guimerá Theater will hold the recital “Randy Edelman: A close relationship”, where the author of soundtracks from movies like ‘Dragonheart’ and ‘The Last of the Mohicans’ or from the television series ‘MacGyver’, will review at the piano his fascinating and eclectic musical career accompanied by a string septet.
Edelman will perform songs from his solo albums, recreating versions of his songs recorded by artists such as Barry Manilow, Olivia Newton-John or The Carpenters and will present piano arrangements of various of his scores created for film and television, in a wide range of styles ranging from comedy to drama. An intimate show that will have anecdotes and personal stories of his career as a composer, and that he will not hesitate to share with the public.
