MOSMA 2020 – Concert program announced

The Malaga Festival has just announced today, Thursday 20th of August, the concert program that will make up the 5th edition of the Movie Score Malaga (MOSMA) film music festival, that will be held from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th, September 2020.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, and due to travel restrictions, MOSMA will have to do without international guests this year and will focus its program on concerts, all of them with reduced capacity and complying with all the established health and safety protocols.

A total of 4 concerts will be held:

  • Homage to Ennio Morricone – Thursday 10/9/20 – 20:30h – Teatro Cervantes. Last July, and barely a month after being granted the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts together with John Williams, the Italian Maestro, one of the most important European composers and author of the soundtrack for more than five hundred films and television series, passed away. MOSMA 2020 could not fail to pay him this tribute, and will do so in a concert with the Malaga Symphony Orchestra in which we will hear some mythical pieces ‘re-imagined’ by the directors and composers Sergio de la Puente, Eneko Vadillo, Joan Martorell, Dani Trujillo, Carles Cases, Isabel Royán, Pablo Cervantes, Luc Suárez, Javier Bayón and the Ferrando brothers.

  • The Music of Studio Ghibli – Friday 11/9/20 – 19:00h – Teatro Echegaray. The composer Óscar Senén proposes us a journey through the music of the mythical Studio Ghibli, one of the most important animation factories in the world, with the Movie Score Málaga Assemblé Orchestra.

  • The music of Alex Pina’s TV series – Friday 11/9/20 – 21:30h – Cine Albéniz. The Movie Score Málaga Assemblé Orchestra, conducted once again by Óscar Senén, will perform a concert with the soundtracks of some of the most nationally and internationally successful Spanish television series of all times, dedicated to the musical world of the creator and producer Álex Pina, author among others of Money Heist, El embarcadero and Vis a vis.

  • MOSMA Maestros 2020 – Saturday 12/9/20 – 20:30h – Teatro Cervantes. A concert starring Spanish cinema and some historical TV series of our small screen, in which the composer Antón García Abril will receive the MOSMA Maestro 2020 Award.

The complete program of these concerts will be available from Monday 24/8/20 on the MOSMA website (www.mosma.es). That same day at 11:00h, tickets will go on sale at the Teatro Cervantes’ box office and on the Internet (Uniticket), with a price of 15 € for the concerts at the Teatro Cervantes and 10 € for the Teatro Echegaray and Cine Albéniz, following the price reduction policy applied by the Malaga Festival due to the coronavirus crisis.
