Unforgettable, legendary, epoch-making – Steven Spielberg and George Lucas have been thrilling cinema audiences with their films for more than 50 years. Adventure, science fiction, comedy, historical films – there is hardly a genre they have not explored. Experience film music gems from cult films by these two film giants in this concert portrait!

 

What would adventure and science fiction cinema be without master directors and prolific Hollywood producers Steven Spielberg and George Lucas?

 

Willow made fantasy film history and Star Wars made science fiction film history, The Mask of Zorro led to the revival of swashbuckling films, Jurassic Park breathed new life into the prehistoric giants in 1993, with the seventh Jurassic film hitting cinemas in 2025. Together, Spielberg and Lucas created the adventures of Indiana Jones. They served as producers on iconic cinema hits such as Back to the Future and Gremlins. Award-winning historical dramas such as Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan were created under their direction.

 

Their filmmaking inspired film music greats such as John Williams, James Horner, Alan Silvestri and Jerry Goldsmith to create unforgettable compositions. The City Light Symphony Orchestra and choir dedicate this evening of film music to them, with the programme also featuring magnificent compositions for choir, including Duel of the Fates and Battle of the Heroes from Star Wars and the moving Hymn of the Fallen from Saving Private Ryan.
