Andrés Valverde, pianist, composer and writer specialized in film music, author of several books on the life and work of John Williams, will teach a course on November 23 and 24 titled “John Williams and the music of Hollywood”.
In the course, a journey through the history of film music in Hollywood will take place, with the figure of composer John Williams as the main conductor and representative. This tour analyzes important historical, theoretical and practical components through its composers, and carries out a study in various fields from the 30s to the present.
The objective is to train students in the knowledge of film music through its authors, thus promoting empathy towards their work.
The course is aimed at directors, screenwriters, editors, musicians, composition students, soundtrack fans and in general, to all those interested in film music.
When: Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th of November 2017 from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m.
