The Palau de la Música Catalana of Barcelona (Spain) will host today a concert entitled “Chopin, Poland and Dracula” performed by the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès conducted by Víctor Pablo Pérez, with Szymon Nehring at the piano, and with the participation of the choir Cor Jove de l ‘ Orfeó Català directed by Esteve Nabona.
The concert, a mix of classical music and film music, will open the 3rd edition of the Polonaise Music Festival, with the collaboration of the Sitges festival, and will feature two pieces by the Polish composer Wojciech Kilar.
The planned program will be the following:
- Edward Elgar – Poland, op. 76
- Wojciech Kilar – The Pianist. Moving to the Ghetto
- Samuel Barber – Agnus Dei
- Wojciech Kilar – Dracula
- Frédéric Chopin – Concert for a piano and orchestra no. 1, in E minor, op. 11
