Composer John Morris died on Thursday, January 25th at his home in Red Hook (New York, USA) at 91.
Known for his collaboration with director Mel Brooks which started with ‘The Producers’ in 1968, he scored multiple films of the 70s and 80s such as ‘Blazing Saddles’ (1974), ‘Young Frankenstein’ (1974), ‘The Elephant Man’ (1980), ‘The Woman in Red’ (1984) ‘Spaceballs’ (1987) or ‘Dirty Dancing’ (1987).
The soundtracks he composed for the films ‘Blazing Saddles’ (1974) and ‘The Elephant Man’ gave him two Oscar nominations.
