Today, November 1st, a very special concert entitled ‘A Night in Hollywood – A Celebration with Sheridon Stokes’ will be held at the Zipper Hall in Los Angeles (CA, USA), to celebrate the career of flutist Sheridon Stokes, who has played on legendary scores such as Mission Impossible, Titanic, Jaws, E.T., Ghost, Glory, Patriot Games, Sneakers, Scent of a Woman, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Waterworld, Jumanji or Independence Day among many others.
At 7:40 pm, Robert Townson will host a panel with Angel Velez, and German composer Jürgen Kramlofsky, about his pieces that will be performed in the first half, including “Fantasy for Five Flutes” and “Concerto for Flute and Chamber Orchestra”, featuring Sheridon Stokes as soloist in two world premiere performances.
Then, and before the concert starts, a second panel hosted by Robert Townson will be celebrated with the flutist Sheridon Stokes (Mission: Impossible, Titanic, E.T., Ghost), whose career began in 1955, together with his colleagues Jim Walker (Father of the Bride, Cocoon, The Right Stuff), Louise DiTullio (Rudy, Hook, Out of Africa), David Shostac (Somewhere in Time, The Little Mermaid, Avatar), Geri Rotella (The Color Purple, Ice Age, Green Book), Stephen Kujala (Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Coco), and Paul Fried (Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves).
Following, at 8:00pm, Angel Velez will conduct the Santa Monica Chamber Orchestra to perform music from movies such as Out of Africa, Titanic, Beauty and The Beast, The Fox, The Witches of Eastwick and many more (arranged by Conrad Pope and David Raiklen).
