On Friday, July 23rd, Oscars conductor and award-winning composer Eímear Noone will lead the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, in a free online concert that will journey through video game history: from HALO to BAFTA-nominated HADES, Final Fantasy to Fortnite, Castlevania to Civilization and a Tetris rock opera (because…why not?!) this concert draws on big orchestral scores from video games.
Curated and arranged by Eímear Noone and Craig Stuart Garfinkle, the concert will bring together rock and electronica, designed to provide a mix of nostalgic greats, with current scores from Triple-A mega-titles to award-winning indie fan favorites.
Eímear Noone comment: “Working at home with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra is always meaningful and rewarding for me, both musically and personally. There’s nothing like it! I’m inspired by the innovative programming and thinking surrounding the orchestra at the moment and by how the orchestra pulled together as a team – a ceolfhoireann in every sense – during of most difficult periods in music history to continue to serve the Irish public and music itself. It’s always a privilege to share the sonic space with these stunning orchestral artists.”
