📢😮 What a surprise! We haven’t even got over the excitement of the 13th FMF yet, and we’ve already got another surprise for you, prepared especially by John Lunn!

 

👉 Many of you have written to tell us how much you love the music from “Downton Abbey”. Last Saturday, on 30 May, during the International Series Gala – recorded in 2015 – we heard the suite from the drama with the piano part performed by the composer himself.

 

👉 Now it’s time for a mini-recital, or LIVE from the Studio: John Lunn – especially for the FMF.

 

👉 At 7pm on Sunday 7 June, the composer will once again introduce the unique atmosphere which made us fall in love with the series. The ambience in “Downton Abbey” is nostalgic, muted, with an undercurrent of bitterness and a foreboding of the tragedies the 20th century was to bring. John Lunn’s music perfectly reflects this – you just have to listen to the opening credits. The soundtrack is built on contrasts – rapid string passages are combined with long phrases and the lively melody line led by the piano comes with a dark accompaniment, writes Jan Bliźniak for muzykafilmowa.pl.
