The concert of music for the film “Peasants” is a trans-genre performance, presenting a wide spectrum of Eastern European roots music including works composed specifically for the painted screen adaptation of Reymont’s masterpiece.

 

It is worth mentioning that during the concerts, LUC & Rebel Babel Film Orchestra reach for both the typical three-beat meter, with the presence of mazurka rhythm, with a predominance of two-beat phrase structure in the presence of tempo rubato, with a dance function, as well as to simple bars and even meter, such as polka.

 

L.U.C. created music for “Peasants” inspired by the folk soundscape of Central and Eastern Europe. Compositions were created in which a contemporary reading of forms and arrangements meets the authentic sound of folk instruments and peasant bands.
