As part of the ‘Festival of Film’ series of concert that the Royal Albert Hall of London is organizing, tomorrow award-winning British singer Robert Habermann will offer a concert called “Late Night Jazz – Mad About Movies (The story of the Hollywood Musical)”, where he will sing themes from the greatest soundtracks of the golden era of Hollywood musicals.
From the moment in 1927 when Al Jolson uttered the immortal words ‘You ain’t heard nothin’ yet!’ in the first ever talking picture, to Gene Kelly’s Singin’ in the Rain, the concert will take us on a journey through some of the most iconic songs of the twentieth century, with plenty of stories and anecdotes in between.
The concert will feature songs of Busby Berkeley, Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli …and many more, with themes including: 42nd Street, Cheek To Cheek, Over The Rainbow, True Love, The Trolley Song, That’s Amore, It’s Magic, climaxing with a medley of 20 Oscar-winning songs.
Late Night Jazz has cabaret-style seating and audience may be asked to share a table.
