The Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa will perform the award-winning soundtrack composed by Howard Shore for ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’, synchronized with the screening of the film, on December 18 & 19, 2025 at 19:30h, at the Palacio Euskalduna – Euskalduna Jauregia in Bilbao, Spain.

 

Shih-Hung Young will lead the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa – BOS, and the concerts will have soprano Eleanor Grant, tiple Manex Ortiz, Bilbao Choral Society (conducted by Enrique Azurza), Coro Euskeria (conducted by Urko Sangroniz), and the Bilbao Choral Society Children’s Choir (conducted by J. L. Ormazabal).

This third part, The Return of the King, concludes the cycle dedicated to one of the pinnacles of the symbiosis between music and cinema, winner of 11 Oscars, including Best Original Score for Howard Shore, whose previous installments in concert visited Bilbao in 2024 (‘The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’ in concert in Bilbao) and 2022 (‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’ in concert in Bilbao).
