Piano film music recital with Marco Werba in the town of Silla

On April 5, Saturday, at 19.00 hours, will take place at the Carmen Valero center in the town of Silla, near Valencia, a piano recital by the Italian Maestro Marco Werba, who will visit us with the purpose of delighting the audience with versions of great international hits as popular as Titanic, Evita, Blade Runner, Chariots of Fire, The Piano, Gladiator, combined with others by European composers such as Nino Rota (The Godfather, Romeo and Juliet), Ennio Morricone (For a Fistful of Dollars, Days of Heaven), Francis Lai (Love Story), Stefan Nilsson (Pelle, the Conqueror), and Fiorenzo Carpi (Pinocchio). Werba himself will perform in the final stretch of the recital his own works that will cover part of his long artistic career, from his debut with the comedy Zoo, in 1988, to his latest production, Hello, Beautiful (2025), including historical dramas such as Anita (2007), Il Conte di Melissa (2001), and Goffredo e l’Italia Chiamò (2023), as well as Giallo (2009), Dario Argento’s film that pays homage to the thriller genre, called giallo in neighboring Italy, from which this film takes its title.

With more than thirty years of experience, and more than fifty years of film and television work, Werba has conducted top level ensembles such as the London Symphony, as well as having collaborated with soloists of the stature of cellist Tina Guo. An extensive career not exempt also from a pedagogical and informative aspect, developed through masterclasses and conferences, publications of books such as La Musica nel Cinema Thriller, as well as the organization of events such as the First International Music Composition Competition for Action Movies, “Scoring Action Movies”, whose first celebration will take place within the 14th Edition of the Narnia Festival, to be held in Umbria, in addition, of course, to live performances such as the one that will take place on the aforementioned date, organized and presented by Frederic Torres, critic and writer specialized in film music, with a divulgative work that also occupies him for more than thirty years.
