The concert ‘The Planets – An HD Odyssey’ produced by City Light Concerts, will be heard for the first time in Germany on 26 August 2023 and as part of the renowned Rheingau Music Festival. The program combines epic NASA images of our solar system with film music and Gustav Holst’s late romantic masterpiece “The Planets”.
While the impressive images shine on the big screen, the City Light Symphony Orchestra and conductor Kevin Griffiths take the audience on a musical journey to the individual planets and out into the infinite, beautiful, and threatening expanses of space.
The first half of the concert is dedicated to world-famous, thrilling film music for earthly and supernatural adventures with “Star Wars”, “ET”, “Star Trek”, “Superman”, “Apollo 13” and “633 Squadron” while the second part of the concert is dedicated to Gustav Holst “The Planets” op. 32.
