It’s official! The Superman In Concert project, which we talked about a month ago (read news), has announced its world premiere: it will be on Saturday, May 16th, and Sunday, May 17th, 2020 in Switzerland, organized by promoter City Light Concerts, in association with Film Concerts Live!, and under license from Warner Bros. Pictures.
The concerts will be performed by the City Light Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anthony Gabriele, and will be held at the KKL Luzern venue in Lucerne (Switzerland), where people will be able to listen to Williams’ triumphant original score live to picture. The movie will be projected in English with German subtitles.
Directed by Richard Donner in 1978, and showcasing a young Christopher Reeve in a breakout performance that would make him an international superstar, Superman features a star-studded cast including Margot Kidder as intrepid reporter Lois Lane, Gene Hackman as the villainous Lex Luthor, and the inimitable Marlon Brando as Jor-El.
