For the first time, the Festival Center of this year’s FMF will be the modern service and recreation complex Fabryczna 13. It is there that meetings with festival stars, concerts, silent disco and various activities for the whole family will be held, among other things. FMF also invites you to the open-air cinema in as many as three locations: at Fabryczna 13, in front of the Kazimierz Gallery and under the Wawel Castle.

The Film Music Festival in Krakow, organized by the City of Krakow, the Krakow Festival Office and RMF Classic, will begin on Monday, May 26. Its biggest event will be a special screening of the film La La Land scheduled for Friday, May 30 at TAURON Arena Krakow. The Oscar-winning soundtrack will be performed live by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and the Cracow Philharmonic Choir. The musicians will be conducted by the composer himself – Justin Hurwitz. However, the festival is not only concerts of symphonic music, but also a series of accompanying events, such as meetings with artists, screenings, performances, dance shows and much more. The FMF finale falls on June 1, which is Children’s Day, so special attractions for the youngest are planned.

Festival Center – Fabryczna 13

For the first time, the FMF Festival Center will be located on the grounds of the festival’s co-organizer: Fabryczna 13. The modern complex in Kraków’s Grzegórzki district includes dining venues, a hotel, a conference center and recreation-related concepts. All facilities are linked by an atmospheric walkway.

We want to give Cracovians and our guests a unique and multifaceted experience, which is why this year we have partnered with the Film Music Festival, which is the true pride of the city,” says Agnieszka Jabłońska, one of the managing directors of Fabryczna 13. «From Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, the Festival Center will be filled with a variety of activities designed for both younger and older audiences. You will be able to feel the magic of Hollywood through events in the atmosphere of the film La La Land – such as swing dance workshops and film knowledge quizzes. In keeping with FMF tradition, there will be a silent disco under the starry sky of Krakow, and in the meantime you will be able to take advantage of the rich offer of our restaurants and relax in the chill zone on deck chairs and pouffes. Everyone and anyone will find something interesting here!» – adds Jablonska.

Especially with The Last of Us fans in mind, Gustavo Santaolalla was invited to the Festival Center. He is the one who created the amazing musical atmosphere in the game and the series, the latest season of which recently premiered. Santaolalla, considered a rock pioneer in Argentina, has also written music for many films – including the award-winning Mystery of Brokeback Mountain. At Fabryczna, it will be possible to attend a meeting with the composer, ask him questions and get his autograph.

Outdoor concerts in the AlterFMF series are also an important part of the Festival Center’s program. On Friday, May 30, two acclaimed electronic music creators will perform at Fabryczna: Wojciech Urbański (who received a Fryderyk and the Polish Soundtrack of the Year award in 2022 for his soundtrack to the film Hiacynt) and Natalia Zamilska (who received the audience award in the Polish Soundtrack of the Year competition in 2024 for her compositions to the film Mother’s Day). More information about the repertoire will be available soon.

Outdoor cinemas: 13 Fabryczna Street, Kazimierz Gallery, Wawel Castle.

For the first time, FMF invites you to screen films in as many as three locations. Thanks to the cooperation with the Krakow Film Festival and the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, three screenings will be held at the Wawel Castle from Tuesday, May 27 to Thursday, May 29 (as part of the “50/50” project). The organizers have selected productions in which music plays a particularly important role – these are: Icarus. The Legend of Mietek Kosz (dir. Maciej Pieprzyca, 2019), Kos (dir. Pawel Maślona, 2023) and Kulej. Two Sides of the Medal (dir. Xawery Zulawski, 2024). The “50 for 50” project is organized as part of the 50th anniversary of the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia.

From Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, the FMF’s outdoor cinema screenings will be held in front of the Kazimierz Gallery, which is the FMF’s Main Partner. In turn, First Man (dir. Damien Chazelle, 2018) will be screened at Fabryczna 13 on Sunday, June 1. The film tells the story of astronaut Neil Armstrong, with music written by this year’s FMF guest Justin Hurwitz. The screening will be made with facilities for the hearing impaired: subtitles, an induction loop will be available, and the expert lecture will be held with translation in PJM.

Children’s Day at Fabryczna

Throughout the weekend, from Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, a host of attractions for children will be waiting at the Festival Center. Scheduled, among others, are stands for face painting and glitter tattoos, a photo booth and stilt walkers’ shows. Workshop participants will be able to build a wooden pet house. Children’s Day with FMF at Fabryczna 13 will open and close with dynamic dance shows, during which volunteers will learn interesting choreography to tunes from popular musical films.

“We are very happy that thanks to the ingenuity of our team and the commitment of our partners, we can present such a rich offer of events accompanying FMF,” says Carolina Pietyra, director of the Krakow Festival Office, adding, «The entire program is available on the FMF website – I encourage you to explore and invite you both to Fabryczna 13, as well as to Galeria Kazimierz and under the Wawel Hill. The slogan of this year’s FMF is City of Stars, so we will try to get off the ground a bit and reach for our dreams.»

Fabryczna 13 is located near the center of Krakow, close to the city’s important junctions: the Mogilskie Roundabout and the Grzegórzeckie Roundabout. The site can be reached by streetcar (Fabryczna stop) or bus (Cystersów stop). There are bicycle racks and paid parking for cars.

Admission to events from the FMF Festival Center program is free, the number of seats is limited.
