The Official Star Trek 2018 Convention started yesterday, 1st of August at The Rio Suites Hotel in Las Vegas (California, USA), and will be held till this Sunday 5th. During the Evening Gala Celebration, to be held on Saturday 4th, the 45 members of the Nevada Pops Orchestra conducted by Richard McGee, and with the participation of soprano Ayana Haviv, will offer a special Star Trek music concert.
The concert will have three luxury guest conductors: Michael Giacchino, leading the orchestra to perform his “Star Trek Into Darkness and Beyond” suites, Jeff Russo, conducting the world premiere orchestral performance of his score for “Star Trek: Discovery,” and Dennis McCarthy conducting “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” suite.
Same day at 1:30 p.m., there will be a panel called “Behind the Music – Michael Giacchino, Dennis McCarthy & Jeff Russo” where the composers will talk about the music of Star Trek and will also be signing autographs on a complimentary basis, immediately following the panel, as their schedule allows.
