Composer James Newton Howard will conduct a special concert dedicated to his music on Friday, June 4, 2021, at the Royal Festival Hall in London (UK).

The event, titled ‘An Evening with James Newton Howard’ will be performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, co-conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen.

 

The first half will have the European premiere of James Newton Howard’s Violin and Cello Concertos. British cellist Andrew Shulman, a former member of the Philharmonia Orchestra, will be the soloist in the cello concerto, which he premiered in spring 2019. The violinist hasn’t been announced yet. The second half of the concert will be dedicated to James Newton Howard’s film music.
