ASMAC – American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers has organized a masterclass next Saturday, January 19th, with composer Joe Kraemer entitled ‘Thematic Development In Film Composing: Arranger Application For The Film Composer’.
This master class will focus not so much on the creation of themes as much as the application of those themes throughout a film score, and ways in which to keep them fresh throughout. These skills come in particularly handy when scoring sequels, as well as episodic television, where established themes need to be revisited and adapted while still being recognizable.
