PWM Edition has published the book “Kilar” dedicated to the great Polish composer Wojciech Kilar, written by journalist & radio presenter Magda Miśka-Jackowska. The book is only available in Polish at this moment, but an English version is planned and on its way.

OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION

“A brilliant composer, cultural phenomenon, great person – Wojciech Kilar is the next protagonist of a book in the Small Monographs series. On his 90th birthday, PWM Edition presents the debut publication by Magda Miśka-Jackowska. No other Polish composer achieved such a widespread recognition, drawing interest also outside Poland – the Dracula soundtrack was the fulfillment of his American dream. Small Monograph on Wojciech Kilar is a story written with true affection. A movie-ready life story of one of the last century’s most interesting composers, his nature, so full of contradictions, which he was well aware of – describing himself as Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; his great love for Basia and for cats, his sparkling sense of humour, his mundane everyday life in Katowice and his staggering composing career in Poland and in Hollywood.”
