Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi masterpiece ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ turns 50 years old in 2018 and to celebrate it Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Andre de Ridder with the Philharmonia Voices, will perform its soundtrack live in a screening of the film at the Royal Festival Hall of London.

The film brought worldwide fame and recognition to both Richard Strauss‘ ‘Also Sprach Zarathustra’ and to the music of Gyorgy Ligeti, creating some of cinema’s most memorable space musical images.

This concert is presented by Southbank Centre in association with the BFI (British Film Institute) and Warner Bros Pictures.
