Hong Kong, once regarded as “Eastern Hollywood”, had a prominent influence in both the history and the development of the movie industry in Asia. In this performance, Ponte London Orchestra conducted by Stephen Lam introduces the UK audience to various heartfully selected Hong Kong movie themes from the ’80s to the present time.
No matter if you are familiar with Hong Kong or a newcomer to the city, this concert hopes to provide with an extraordinary experience of Hong Kong’s pop culture, enabling to enjoy beautiful melodies from the city’s pop stars including Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui, Eason Chan, Sammi Cheng and Jer Lau. Program highlights include: Leslie Cheung – Chase, Sammi Cheng – Beautiful Life, Jacky Cheung – Perhaps Love & ToNick – Perpetual Affection.
The songs are performed by leading Hong Kong vocalists (Austom Lam, Jarita Wan, Jenus Ho, Daniel Lau), accompanied by a full orchestra made up entirely of Hong Kong musicians.
