The Los Angeles Master Chorale led by Grant Gershon, will perform two concerts dedicated to the music of blockbusters from stage and screen, today, Saturday, May 4th and tomorrow, Sunday, May 5th, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (California).

 

The concerts, entitled ‘Great Opera & Film Choruses’ will include the following pieces, with many world premieres:

  • JOHN POWELL – Suite from How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
  • LEONCAVALLO – Bell Chorus (Pagliacci)
  • JOHN WILLIAMS – The Last Jedi from Star Wars: The Last Jedi
  • MICHAEL GIACCHINO – Suite from Star Trek
  • VERDI -Va, pensiero (Nabucco)
  • GERMAINE FRANCO – Dove’s Loophole from Tag
  • DANNY ELFMAN – Main Theme from Alice in Wonderland
  • WAGNER – Pilgrims’ Chorus and Finale (Tannhäuser)
  • PHILIP GLASS – Funeral Chorus (Akhnaten)
  • MICHAEL ABELS – Sikiliza Kwa Wahenga from Get Out
  • MICHAEL ABELS – Anthem from Us
  • GERMAINE FRANCO – Proud Corazón from Coco
  • DANNY ELFMAN – Ice Dance from Edward Scissorhands
  • PUCCINI – Humming Chorus (Madama Butterfly)
  • HEITOR PEREIRA – Clouds Lifted from Smallfoot
  • HEITOR PEREIRA – Papa Mama Loca Pipa from Despicable Me 3
  • PINAR TOPRAK – Main Theme from Captain Marvel

 

Pre-concert conferences will be held one hour before each of the concerts, where composers John Powell, Pinar Toprak, and Michael Abels will talk about how their music gives life to the world’s most successful movies.
