The Vitoria-Gasteiz Television Festival – FesTVal, to be held from 31/8 to 5/9 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, will once again offer a parallel section in its programming, ProFesTVal, which since 2010, has been hosting talks and conferences aimed at professional audiences and students, completely free of charge upon registration.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1st at 12h, we will find in ProFesTVal the conference, “Music as a resource in television” with the collaboration of Music Library & SFX, which can be attended both in-person and online.

Music is one of the resources that most substantially enrich any audiovisual content. But the use of music faces many challenges: one of them is copyright. Not only from a legal perspective, but also for the respect and defense of creative work.

In a didactic and informative way, Marta Sancho (graduated in Music History and Sciences and specialized in Music Industry and Sound Studies, head of the Copyright Department of Music Library &SFX), will explain the basic elements to take into account for the use of music in television production. In addition, an overview of music resources available to audiovisual creators will be provided with real examples.
