In 1921 Charles Chaplin released his first feature film: The Kid, a title that catapulted the brilliant British actor and director to the Olympus of comedy. On Saturday, December 18, the Lope de Vega Theater in Seville, Spain celebrates this centenary with the screening of the restored version of the film, including live music.
On Sunday, December 19, City Lights, another of his great artistic successes that triumphed despite the unpopularity of silent films on its 1931 release, will be screened.
Two film sessions together with live performances of the corresponding original soundtracks signed by Chaplin himself. All the scores have been restored by maestro Timothy Brock, the leading exponent in the interpretation of his music today, and he will conduct the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla.
