Today it was made public that Japanese composer Shunsuke Kikuchi, passed away last Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Tokyo at the age of 89. Retired since 2017 due to health problems related to a lung disease, the death has been caused by pneumonia.

 

With more than 200 titles to his credit, mostly within the field of Japanese anime soundtracks from the 70s and 80s, Kikuchi became known worldwide for being the author of the soundtracks of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, as well as the series Getter Robo, UFO Robo Grendizer, Dr. Slump or Doraemon and its well-known main theme.
