The two concerts that Joe Hisaishi was to conduct this Friday, August 5, and Saturday, August 6 at London’s OVO Arena Wembley, dedicated to the music of Studio Ghibli, have been postponed due to having coronavirus.

 

Official statement:

“Due to Joe Hisaishi having Coronavirus he will unfortunately be unable to travel to London for the 2022 Studio Ghibli concerts. Therefore, both Friday 5th Aug and Saturday 6th Aug shows are postponed.

 

We are working with Joe’s team to reschedule both shows and we hope to have new dates for you in the coming weeks. Please keep hold of your ticket(s) as they will be valid for the new dates.

Hello everyone who was looking forward to my concert, I’m very sorry that I can’t do it. I got infected with corona.

We will definitely have a concert soon, so let’s meet at that time. I’m looking forward to seeing you.

These concerts, which had already been postponed from 2020 to 2021 (read more) and from 2021 to 2022, suffer a new setback and change their celebration to dates still unspecified. SoundTrackFest will bring you more news as soon as they are available.
