This unprecedented program brings together the three major recent creations of Vladimir Cosma for the mandolin: Concerto Mediterraneo (2015), Popular Suite (2020) and Tanguedia (2025). These works reflect the composer’s deep commitment to the mandolin, an instrument he helped to enshrine sustainably in the contemporary concert landscape.

They dialogue with pages of composers closely linked to Vladimir Cosma: his Hungarian conf. Béla Bartók, a major figure in European musical modernity, Armin Kaufmann, whose Konzert für zwei Mandolinen has become a reference in the repertoire, as well as Régis Campo, professor of composition at the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet in Marseille, an academician and long-time friend of the composer.

The latter pays tribute to him by dedicating the finale of his Cinematic Concerto. For this exceptional evening, the Orchestre de Chambre de Marseille, under the direction of the Franco-American conductor Julien Bénichou, welcomes in its ranks some of the best students of the class of Marc Vieilfon (professor of chamber music of the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet of Marseille). They accompany the guest soloists, joined by the percussionist Christian Bini as well as two students of the Vladimir Cosma Conservatory of Aubagne.
