Narnia Festival 2023 will offer the first International Masterclass in composition in ‘Music for Period Dramas’, which will take place in Narni, Italy from July 26-30.
The Masterclass will be taught by Marco Werba, who has 34 years of experience as a film composer and wrote the music for the historical feature films “Il Conte di Melissa” by Maurizio Anania, “Amore e Libertà, Masaniello” by Angelo Antonucci, “Anita, a life for Garibaldi” by Aurelio Grimaldi, “I Fiori del Male” by Claver Salizzato, “Gelone, la espada y la gloria” by Gianni Virgadaula, “La Grande Guerra del Salento” by Marco Pollini and “Goffredo” (E Italia chiamó) by Angelo Antonucci.
The composers participating in the course will have the opportunity to write some compositions for historical film scenes and during the lessons will analyze scores written by Miklos Rozsa, Georges Delerue, and Nino Rota, belonging to period dramas of different historical periods.
