On Friday, October 27th, the Symphony Orchestra of Castilla y Leon (OSCyL) conducted by Damian Iorio, will perform the soundtrack of the film ‘The New Babylon’ during the 62nd edition of the SEMINCI Festival in Valladolid (Spain).

The film, released in 1929 and directed by Grigori Kozintsev and Leonid Trauberg, is considered a classic of Russian cinematography and is a clear exponent of the propaganda of that era. The soundtrack was composed by Dimitri Shostakovich, at the age of 23, being this his first work for cinema.

The film will have Spanish subtitles and comes from the archive of the European Film Philharmonic Institute, with the music being the version arranged and re-constructed by director Frank Strobel.
