The International Jazz Festival of Alicante – FIJAZZ 2019, will have a special concert on Saturday, July 27th, dedicated to the figure of two great composers, Michael Nyman and Leonard Bernstein, celebrating Bernstein‘s 100th anniversary (2018) and Nyman’s 75th anniversary (2019).
The concert, entitled ‘Nyman-Bernstein Celebration’, will be performed by the ADDA Simfònica orchestra conducted by Josep Vicent, who will take us into two different but complementary worlds: on the one hand the film music of the British composer within the filmography of the Laureate director Peter Greenaway, and on the other hand the masterworks of the American composer including his famous Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.
This will be a benefit concert in favor of the fight against ALS disease through the Spanish PEDAELA association.
