This Thursday, 15th of February, acclaimed composer and UNESCO Global Goodwill Ambassador Tan Dun will conduct a special concert in Washington D.C. (USA) to join the celebrations of the Chinese Lunar New Year 2018.

The concert, performed by the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, will include his Grammy and Oscar-winning score for ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)’, in a special concert version, with internationally acclaimed soloists Dan Zhu (violin), Jiapeng Nie (cello), and Yumin Wu (piano).

 

The full program will be as follows:

  • Igor Stravinsky – Fireworks
  • Tan Dun – Triple Concerto for Piano, Violin, and Violoncello: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
  • Guan Xia – One Hundred Birds Flying Towards the Phoenix for Suona and Orchestra
  • Igor Stravinsky – The Firebird Suite (1919 version)
