On Friday, October 31st, and to celebrate Halloween, the Salle Pleyel in Paris, France will host the world premiere of ‘The Movies Adapted From Stephen King in Symphonic Concert’, produced by Overlook Events and approved by Stephen King himself: “As someone who’s always loved movie music, I’m delighted with this concert. Enjoy!” — Stephen King. The concert will be performed by Orchestre Colonne conducted by Adrián Ronda Sampayo.

Stephen King is not only the greatest modern American novelist—he’s also one of the most widely adapted authors in the world, with countless books turned into iconic films and television series. His universe, both rich and haunting, has given life to cultural milestones—from Pennywise’s terrifying presence in It to Andy Dufresne’s moving tale in The Shawshank Redemption. These adaptations have shaped generations, supported by unforgettable musical scores.

 

For the very first time, Stephen King – The Symphonic Concert celebrates this legendary filmography through 25 cult films and series officially adapted from his works. An immersive musical experience where each piece is introduced by excerpts from King’s novels, accompanied on screen by original illustrations inspired by his stories.

 

For two hours, relive iconic music composed by some of cinema’s greatest names: Thomas Newman (The Mist, The Shawshank Redemption), Danny Elfman (Dolores Claiborne), James Newton Howard (Dreamcatcher), John Carpenter (Christine), Philip Glass (Secret Window), Pino Donaggio (Carrie), Mark Isham (The Mist), and the master of modern horror music, Benjamin Wallfisch (It Chapters 1 & 2).

 

A full symphonic orchestra will bring these masterpieces to life in a one-of-a-kind Halloween celebration—paying tribute to one of the greatest authors of our time and the legendary screen adaptations that have become icons of pop culture.
