11 film music events during the 14th edition of ‘Cinéma urbain’ in Montreal
The 14th edition of Cinéma Urbain, that is being held this summer every Tuesday, from June 25th to September 3rd 2019 at 21:30h, at the Peace Park in Montreal (QC, Canada), presents a line-up of movies that celebrate the special role of music in film, from the beginning to the present day.
The Society for Arts and Technology in collaboration with the Quartier des spectacles‘s partnership, will screen 11 free movies, having in some cases live musical accompaniment, being in others preceded by concerts, and being in others followed by discussions with the artists, with a mix of classic and new Canadian and international films.
The program, prepared in close collaboration with guest curator Sandro Forte, vice-president of the Association québécoise des critiques de Cinéma (AQCC), is a celebration of peaceful coexistence – a powerful echo of Montréal’s rich cultural diversity.
We have to highlight the last event of this list, the one that will close Cinéma Urbain on September 3rd, which will consist of a projection of the concert ‘Scoring 4 Polish Directors: Wadja’, celebrated during the Krakow Film Music Festival in 2005. This event is organized in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, the Krakow Film Music Festival, the Krakow city council, the Krakow Festivals Office, Film POP and the National Film Board of Canada.
