Film music concerts at SACO 2018 festival
The Audiovisual Week of Oviedo (SACO – Semana del Audiovisual de Oviedo), which brings together various artistic disciplines linked to the film world, will hold its 4th edition from March 16th to 25th, 2018 in Oviedo (Asturias, Spain). Among the events related to film music, and included in laMESTA cycle, people will be able to enjoy the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the film Vertigo by Alfred Hitchcock, in a special screening where the Oviedo Filarmonia orchestra will perform its original soundtrack live.
Let’s highlight some of the events that will take place during the festival:
On Saturday 17th of March at 8:30 pm, the movie Vertigo (1958) will be screened at the Teatro Campoamor with its original Bernard Herrmann’s soundtrack performed live by the Oviedo Filarmonia conducted by Anthony Gabriele.

On Tuesday 20th of March at 8:30 pm the show ‘Big Sun’ by the pianist and composer Chassol will be premiered at the Teatro Campoamor, consisting of merging images recorded in Martinique with his own live music.

On Thursday 22nd of March at 8:30 pm a projection of four films by the Ukrainian filmmaker Maya Deren will take place at the Teatro Campoamor, where the group Fasenuova will perform their soundtrack using electronic instruments and in sync with the images.
