Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2017 – Winners

Last Thursday, November 16, the 8th edition of the Hollywood Music in Media Awards was held at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles.

 

During the ceremony, the HMMA Career Achievement Award was presented to Diane Warren. Musical performances included a special 25th Anniversary Tribute to The Bodyguard Soundtrack, with the theme Run to Youperformed by its songwriters Allan Dennis Rich and Judd Friedman, and the iconic Ghostbusters song performed live by Ray Parker Jr., who received a standing ovation as he approached the stage.

 

The Original Score for Feature Film Award was for Oneohtrix Point Never (aka Daniel Lopatin) for his work in the movie Good Time, while Alexandre Desplat won an award for Original Score in a Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or Horror Film with The Shape of Water. Michael Giacchino won in the Animated Film category with Coco and Philip Glass in Documentary category with Jane. Spanish composer Arturo Cardelús won the Original Score – Short Film – Animated Award for In a Heartbeat.
