And we end (for today) the celebrations of the 90th birthday of maestro John Williams talking about the Academy Awards, the Oscars. Nominated 52 times for the coveted award, a record only surpassed by Walt Disney with 59 nominations, John Williams has received 5 statuettes.

 

The first in 1972 for the film adaptation of the Broadway musical “Fiddler on the Roof”. This was followed by Jaws (1976), Star Wars (1978), E.T. (1983), and Schindler’s List (1994). Curiously, he has not won a single statuette since 1994, despite having been nominated 21 times since then (read more).
