John Williams – Tanglewood 2023
John Williams will turn 91-years-old in just a few days, and celebrating that, Tanglewood has recently announced its summer concert series, where John Williams and his music will have a notorious presence.

5/8/2023 – SAT – 20h – John Williams’ Film Night
Boston Pops orchestra conducted by John Williams & David Newman, with the participation of the BU Tanglewood Institute Chorus.
Maestros Williams and Newman will share the podium at the Koussevitzky Music Shed for a memorable program of film clips and music from the silver screen, in a special evening of movie magic.

8/8/2023 – TUE – 20h – Tanglewood On Parade
This annual celebration starts at 14:30h with several concerts of Chamber Music, Vocal Music & Brass Fanfares, followed by the main concert at 20:00h at the Koussevitzky Music Shed with fireworks after the concert.
The concert will be performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops Orchestra, and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra conducted by Keith Lockhart, Andris Nelsons, and John Williams, with the following program:

- Arturs MASKATS – Tango
- RIMSKY-KORSAKOV – Capriccio espagnole
- John WILLIAMS – Selections from Far and Away, Born on the Fourth of July, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

11/8/2023 – FRI – 20h – Andris Nelsons conducts Williams, Strauss, and Ravel feat Anne-Sophie Mutter
Andris Nelsons will conduct the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the Koussevitzky Music Shed, with the participation of virtuoso violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter to perform John Williams’ Violin Concerto No. 2, written by the composer, especially for her.
The program will be as follows:

26/8/2023 – SAT – 20h – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert
Keith Lockhart will conduct the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra at the Koussevitzky Music Shed, in a live-to-picture performance of the magnificent score written by maestro John Williams for the film that started the Harry Potter saga.
