SONAFILM 2024 – Concert ‘Made in Spain 2’ & conference ‘Let’s talk about film music’
The 6th edition of SONAFILM – Marina Alta Film Music Festival, will celebrate on Friday, August 16 the concert ‘Made in Spain 2’ at the Auditori de Calp (Alicante, Spain) with the participation of composers Manel Gil-Inglada, Zacarías M. de la Riva, Paula Olaz, Vicente Ortiz Gimeno, and Darío Palomo, presented by Gorka Oteiza (SoundTrackFest).
“Made in Spain 2” is the second part of one of the most celebrated shows in the last edition of SONAFILM. It is a unique Symphonic Concert of Film Music, as it is entirely dedicated to compositions created for the Spanish audiovisual industry. As in 2023, renowned national composers will participate and, on this occasion, the guests are Manel Gil-Inglada (“Barrio Sésamo”, “Saber y Ganar”, “Los Lunnis”), Zacarías M. de la Riva (“Bajocero”, “Las Aventuras de Tadeo Jones”), Paula Olaz (“Bajo Terapia”), Darío Palomo (“Amar es para siempre”, “The Caged”), and Vicente Ortiz Gimeno (“Los Farad”), whose music will be performed by the Universal Symphony Orchestra, SONAFILM’s resident orchestra, conducted by José Martínez Colomina. The concert will be presented by Gorka Oteiza (SoundTrackFest).

We would like to emphasize that the policy and organization regarding tickets, including how to purchase them and the process of queuing at the venue, is not the responsibility of the Festival, but of the City Council organizing the event.
It is important for attendees to know that on this occasion it is not necessary to pick up the ticket anywhere beforehand. However, in order to avoid any inconvenience or collapse at the gates, we recommend that those wishing to secure a place arrive well in advance to queue.
We want to make it clear that these policies and regulations are the responsibility of the Calpe Town Hall and not of the Festival. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

That same day, and in anticipation of the concert, the invited composers will give a talk from 11:00 to 13:30h at the Sala Multiespai L’Androna – Balearia in Dénia, Alicante, where they will discuss and present their point of view on the particularities of creating music for animated films, sharing their experiences and knowledge about this fascinating field. The theme of the talk will be for all audiences, making accessible and understandable the world of music in animation to a wide and diverse audience.
The talk, free admission until full capacity, will feature Manel Gil-Inglada, Zacarías M. de la Riva, Paula Olaz, Vicente Ortiz Gimeno, and Darío Palomo, moderated by Gorka Oteiza (SoundTrackFest), and will offer a wine tasting at the end, by Bodega Aguilar.
