Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels – Tour 2019 to celebrate their 30th anniversary
In May and June 2019, Carrot Productions will tour Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels across the UK offering more than 30 concerts in two months, performed by the Picture House Orchestra conducted by Steve Magee and presented by Matthew Sharp.
The show will include clips specially prepared by Aardman Animations, the creators of Wallace & Gromit, with live orchestral accompaniment, and for the first time ever, the audience will also be able to enjoy the Academy Award-winning Wallace & Gromit short film The Wrong Trousers (1993), with its soundtrack performed live.
In some of the venues, and also teaming up with Aardman Animations, there will be model making workshops available for kids, which will provide a great opportunity to learn from the experts and try making their very own Gromit. After the workshop, kids will be able to take their masterpiece home and have a go at animating it using Aardman’s easy to use Animate It! software.
This event is suitable for ages 7+. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Both adults and children must have a ticket to attend.
And finally, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Wallace & Gromit and as a special event to launch the tour, Carrot Productions will premiere their live orchestral experience at the school where Nick Park created Wallace & Gromit, The National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield (UK), on 15th May 2019.
There you will be able to enjoy the short The Wrong Trousers (1993) and, exclusively for this premiere and to celebrate its 30th anniversary, A Grand Day Out (1989), all with live orchestral accompaniment, plus a Q&A with director Nick Park and with Julian Nott, composer of the Wallace & Gromit scores.
