Composers Summit Prague 2023 – Conferencias y conciertos
Del 14 al 20 de abril de 2023, la 2ª edición de Composers Summit Prague acogerá a los más renombrados compositores de música de cine, series y otras obras orquestales, incluyendo música de la industria del videojuego, con invitados como: Harry Gregson-Williams, Mychael Danna, Christopher Young, Jeff Beal, Conrad Pope, Chris Egan, Elia Cmiral, Nan Schwartz o Antoni Komasa Lazarkiewicz entre muchos otros.
Composers Summit Prague ofrece una plataforma de encuentro entre aficionados y expertos que pueden crear nuevas obras, compartir experiencias o entablar una valiosa cooperación. La cumbre incluirá clases dirigidas por compositores de Hollywood, así como 40 actos paralelos, debates y conferencias, a lo largo de seis días. El evento culmina con conciertos temáticos para el público presentados por la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Checa (CNSO) y dirigidos personalmente por los compositores invitados.

Masterclass with Hollywood Composers (Total of 8 masterclasses)
The classes will be presented by two Hollywood lecturers for active participants of the Summit. Participants will receive an assignment a week before the start, which must be elaborated by the start of the master class.
The compositions created will then be broken down under the lecturers’ supervision. After the Summit, participants have a week to complete the work based on discussion, advice and notes from the lecturers. If the requirements and quality are met, the projects can be used in a real production environment. The four-hour master classes always start at 10:00 a.m. and provide a lunch break.
Lectures (Total of 20 lectures)
Gain know-how and experience from star guests at the Composers Summit. Each of the composers chooses a specific topic in the field of music in audiovisual, in which they will familiarize you with their own experience, workflow, present specific samples and let you gain insight into how they work and create. It also involves discussions.
Talks (Total of 10 talks)
Various views on interesting topics in the field of music, musical composition and incorporating music into audiovisual content. Star guests from the ranks of composers and more will share with you opinions and answers to the questions you ask. How is work done in Hollywood and how is it done in the Czech Republic? What are the biggest differences in the development of music in audiovisual? How can Czech music in film and audiovisual raise its quality? What role do industries such as gaming and VR play nowadays and what are the prospects here for music? How important is music and sound to the current success of the gaming industry? Tech & Gaming (Full day of music in gaming)
One entire day of the Summit will be devoted to music and sound in gaming under the auspices of the largest Czech gaming company, Bohemia Interactive, with participation of other industry partners. Tech Zone will also introduce the topic «Tips & Tricks for your studio», where top professionals can consult on individual studio components, from design and acoustics to equipment and software. You can also look forward to stellar guests from gaming creation and their special performances.
CONCIERTOS
Además, el evento incluirá tres conciertos, dos abiertos al público y un tercero como parte del acto de clausura:
Viernes 14/4 – 18:30h – CONCIERTO INAUGURAL – ESTRELLAS DE HOLLYWOOD EN UN ESCENARIO
El concierto de apertura de la Composers Summit Prague 2023 presentará en un escenario a sus invitados, que dirigirán personalmente sus obras más famosas de películas y series de televisión, interpretadas por la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Checa en la Obecní dům – Casa Municipal.
Se podrá disfrutar de:
- Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna, who will conduct a piece from the film Being Julia directed by István Szabó.
- One of Hollywood’s most in-demand composers Harry Gregson-Williams with Antarctic Summer from Penguins.
- Christopher Young presenting the title tune from Nosferatu.
- Orchestrator Conrad Pope with Hedwig’s theme from Harry Potter and a piece from My Week with Marilyn.
- Grammy winner Nan Schwartz, who will personally introduce the music from Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning Pinocchio and the title track from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
- Five-time Emmy winner Jeff Beal, who will perform suites from House of Cards.
- Paul K. Joyce, who will perform tunes from The Snow Queen.
- Chris Egan with a song from Fireheart.
- The premiere of Eli Cmiral‘s suite from Seven Cemeteries.
- Antoni K. Lazarkiewicz, who will conduct a piece from the film Carodej Kaytek.
- The concert will include the premiere of the music for the new game Arma Reforger by Bohemia Interactive, the soundtrack by Dominik Svoboda.

Martes 18/4 – 18:30h – MÚSICA ESPECTACULAR DE HOLLYWOOD
Las estrellas de Hollywood y los galardonados compositores de música de cine Harry Gregson-Williams y Mychael Danna dirigirán personalmente a la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Checa con sus obras musicales más famosas en la Obecní dům – Casa Municipal de Praga. Estas composiciones icónicas irán acompañadas de una proyección cinematográfica especial preparada exclusivamente para este extraordinario acontecimiento.
Durante la velada se interpretarán melodías de las siguientes películas: Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia, Life of Pi, Moneyball, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Return to Space, Monsoon Wedding, Martian, Prince of Persia, Mulan, The Good Dinosaur.
