Conciertos ‘Cinque città per Morricone: Ancona, Bari, Palermo, Roma e Torino’ – 6 de julio de 2026

Five cities, five of Italy’s most prestigious cultural and musical institutions, five orchestras and five conductors, five local and institutional entities, but one composer: Ennio Morricone . On July 6 (in memory of the day in 2020 on which the Maestro passed away), theaters and squares from Turin to Palermo, from Rome to Bari to Ancona will simultaneously host concerts of the music of the great composer whose music has colored the Italian and international imagination. His music — which truly spans every possible musical genre — has achieved its greatest diffusion and popularity through its association with the images of the films in which it starred. Conductors and orchestras will draw from this immense «catalogue» (Morricone composed hundreds of soundtracks). The project, launched by the Ennio Morricone Foundation, has been embraced by institutions and musical organizations who will thus pay their tribute. Let’s see the details of what will take place in the various cities:

With this July 6th event,» commented Walter Veltroni, its president, «the Foundation aims to involve thousands of people in many different locations (all magical and important in their own way in the Italian cultural and musical scene) so that the Maestro’s music can be heard again, played live. This extraordinary experience will engage and, I am sure, amaze an audience that we hope will be made up not only of enthusiasts, who have heard those notes and for whom they are unmistakable, but also many young people. We thank all the municipalities, local institutions, and musical institutions for the passionate spirit with which they have joined this initiative.»

 

Ancona, Bari, Palermo, Rome, and Turin are cities where the Maestro has performed frequently throughout his long career. Their geographical distribution, from North to South, and the program and musical direction choices have allowed us to create an extraordinary and unique journey, with a view to rebalancing the local area, directly involving the relevant municipal administrations and/or the most prestigious musical institutions in each of the four cities.

 

For the first time, five major cities and five of Italy’s major operatic and symphonic venues have come together to commemorate a leading figure in contemporary twentieth-century music.

 

And that’s not all: on July 5th in Venice, this time as an initiative by La Fenice and the record company Sugar, a major concert is planned in Piazza San Marco featuring performances of the Maestro’s music.
